YOU MATTER!
Have you ever admired people that you almost didn’t like the way you are? Let me give my answer, I have. At some point, I used to look at myself and think, I was not good enough, that, other people were better than me… I found myself trying to be like somebody else, whom I thought was better and people would accept. I forget that people cannot accept me, when I haven’t accepted myself. They would accept me when I accept myself, and love me for who I am.
I was so unhappy with who I was. Nothing changed for a long time, until I changed the way I see myself. I noticed when I was not trying hard to please others, I was happy with myself, people who matter, accepted me for who I was. See, trying to be like others is not profitable. It’s like trying to make a fish , live on land. The only thing that is sustainable is being YOU. You cannot sustain somebody else character, that will only make you an actor for the rest of your life. You would act without getting paid for the fake roles. Stay original.
Staying original doesn't mean you shouldn't work on being better than you are. It just means accepting the good and not too good about you, and you can work on the later part to be a better version of yourself.
Never forget that, nothing beats the original copy!
Stay Original!
Have a great day.

My VA Diary
Date: 23-06-2017
Time: 12:47pm
It has been an awesome couple of weeks. I learned and unlearned many things, like the basics of running a business, how to handle a "NO" from prospects and a lot more than you can imagine. Some of these stung me in ways I could not have imagined but it has made me a better person and business woman. One thing I have learned is a "NO" from a prospect is not an outright rejection. It usually not about you as a person. You either have to accept the rejection , retreat and mope around for a few days or weeks or you accept it, draw your lessons from the experience and come up stronger. A failure is one who quits.
I have had a great time working with several entrepreneurs. The truth is anyone who is an entrepreneur or business owner is an extremely brave person in my books. Running a business is no small feat, you have to deal with a lot no matter the size of your business. These are a zillion and one things to learn daily, everything is evolving, what was in yesterday is out today. It is a whole load of hustle and I am enjoying it. This means I am growing, I am no longer in my comfort zone, I am breaking through barriers mentally, physically and hopefully financially(Amen to that).
Working as a Virtual Assistant is fun, the most fun part for me is understanding my clients goals (business and personal) and helping them meet those goals. It helps build the client-consultant relationship and trust is no longer an issue as the client is encouraged to commit more into my able hands. Some issues are still of concern to me though and I am going to address them. Hopefully, this will help someone out there.
π Dear Entrepreneur, I understand that your business is your baby. Your VA is not out to steal your baby( I am speaking for myself). Many people are unwilling to let go of the reins of some aspects of their businesses and this frustrates the VA . Please learn to let go. Imagine you have car troubles, you pick up your phone to call your mechanic. Your mechanic shows up and you shut your bonnet, lock up the car and hide the keys ππ. That sounds crazy right? That's exactly how it is when you hire a VA to run your schedule, plan your meetings or even manage your business and you refuse to share salient information with your VA. Your setting up yourself for a fall.
π π Your VA is not the enemy. Kindly inform your staff before you hire a VA, explain to them the duties of the VA and ensure the VA is given maximum cooperation. I have had to work with employees who feel threatened (no, I am not gunning for your job. I run my own business. Thank you!) or just totally ignore me. I need information from you to attend to what your employer needs and I think it is very immature and unnecessary to tell on someone not doing their job as they are supposed to. I leave it to the employer to find out except it is something that will threaten the business then I morally obligated to speak up.
π π π I call, text send emails constantly at the beginning of a business relationship because I want to ensure that I have all the information I need and after this, you do not hear from me except there is a need for it. Communication is important, very important. Dear Entrepreneur, when I insist on you telling me your preferred communication channel ,please don't skip the question and complain when I send you emails when you would prefer a phone call. MerΓ§i !
π π π π My fingers are hurting so I will stop here an save the rest for my next diary entry. Having a system is important for every business, documenting your processes is vital for your business. Onboarding your VA is less tasking for you and the VA. It also makes it easy to run your business even in your absence. You cam focus on more important aspects of your business and even go on a long holiday when your VA has a proper understanding of your operations.
I intend to have a great weekend and I hope you do too.
XOXO ππππ

Monday Motivation
Hey there,
It's been a minute.
Weekend good?
Apologies for my unexplained absence.
I am working on restructuring this blog and some aspects of my business. The changes will be implemented as time goes on so if things look different to you on here, you have an idea of what is going on already ππ.
Today's motivation topic is How to become a more valuable person. It is often said that, your worth is determined by the value you offer. I once posted on this blog, It your business is offering no value, accept that you are running an NGO. It sounds funny but it is true.
Read the article below and put to work any wisdom nuggets that strike you as the truth.
Webster defined valuable as having desirable or esteemed characteristics or being of great use or service. This means that if you as an organization or a person want to be valuable, you must be of great use to others.
The single most important and potent way to expand your income is to devise a way to consistently add real value to people’s lives, and you will prosper. – Anthony Robbins.
If you can add to your life more skills, abilities, creativity, caring and organized knowledge and then use them to improve the quality of life of the people around you—you will become more valuable.
Whether you are an employee, entrepreneur or still searching for your passion, make yourself more valuable to the world. Do not expect an increase in your pay or sales numbers simply because you show up every workday.
HOW DO YOU BECOME A MORE VALUABLE PERSON?
1. Read more, learn more. Then you can serve more.
If you read more relevant books, magazine etc., you will be able to help many more people. Sometime you simply have to read the office rules and you will become reference for many people who are “lazy” to read the office policy documents.
2. Accept new opportunities
Many organisational changes bring new opportunities and it is only those who accept these changes that would become valuable to the new system.
3. Add additional skills
New languages, new techniques such as modelling, sales, analysis, core software skills, leadership etc. are some of the new skills that can make you valuable in any organized and learning culture.
4. Follow market trends and get ahead
If you are always up to date with the latest market information and trend, you will become a major source of valuable information to many of your colleagues and customers.
You have to develop your skills, learn new ones, and look for ways to improve products, systems and processes.
Search for ways to make the work of your supervisors and colleagues much easier.
I agree with Albert Einstein when he said “try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.” Success is a journey and only your values will take you through.
I know of someone who joined a bank as a security officer assigned to the banking hall. This guy simply made himself more valuable to customers and also enrolled into some business courses. With many positive customer feedbacks, he was given a permanent banking job. Today he is a branch operations manager of a regional bank.
If you are a new graduate, you have to find a way to make yourself more valuable and convince potential employers that they will get a return on their investment if they hire you. In essence, you have to increase your worth.
If you are self-employed, ask how your business can touch the lives of your customers. Again, by making your business more valuable to people, earning sales can be the only consequence.
